To be honest, a small town boy from KC like myself ending up in NYC was just terrified. My vacation to Quebec led me to the Bronx and Manhatten, but all in all it was a very nice experience. I feared traffic mostly, even at 3 am, and the traffic was pretty bad I must admit, it was a bit of a blessing, as I got to see so many buildings and areas of NYC that I probly will never again have the chance to see again thanks to the slow traffic. I had with me my 15 yr old brother, who always wanted to see NYC and he was very happy I detoured through the city, not on purpose lol, I did get lost in NJ. Anyway, I'm just rambling a bit now, but I am so happy I got to see the big apple, however at 8$ for a meal at mcdonalds, I am also happy I dont live there!

No Hell. Just its kitchen.

I'm not sure what you were expecting, but NYC really isn't all that scary. It can be a difficult place to live, though. The logistics of moving all of those people and doing something simple as getting enough food into the city is pretty daunting. (Not that people are starving or anything, mind you. I just mean in terms of keeping shelves stocked and expenses down.)

I love NYC, but it definitely comes with its share of hassles.

kc

I moved to LI from Austin Texas back in 1988 - it was a Sunday at 5:00pm, I was stuck on the BQE in rush hour traffic.

I remember saying up loud to myself - What the Fxxk am I'm doing here in NYC....

That was over twenty years ago,.....and I'm still here.........
