Why are there so many civil libertarians posting on line? It may be my own experience but it seems to me that in many forums (both in the US and here in my country, Spain, where I currently live), the net is filled with libertarian anarchists.

I think it is rather annoying that in almost every post about the economy, one has to stumble over the usual austrian "economists" (yeah, that's quite a laugh) and serious discussions turn into libertarian versus "fascist" threads, at times.

I have a message for the civil libertarians and the austrian so called "economists":

Don't inundate the net with your silly posts about "freedom" and "anarchism."

I would like for this thread, for example, to remain free, as much as possible, of anarchy and anarchists.

Thank you

Well, the people you find distasteful have every bit as much right to post here as you do.

Where do you get this false premise that a libertarian is the same as an anarchist? Maybe there is a difference in terms, but here in the US, a libertarian is someone who generally takes a view that personal liberties are the bedrock of our republic. They support limited government, but do not advocate abolition of government. Libertarians believe that your rights end where they interfere with mine, and vice versa, but they do not advocate anarchy and believe in law and order.

Anarchists generally believe that government is illegitimate and advocate subversion of government and authority. They are sometimes violent in their means and use vandalism and criminal activity as their tools. They do not care about your property rights or your liberty.

Hey I have an idea! Let's start a thread talking about anarchists (and insult them a lot in the process, asserting that they don't understand economics!), and then stipulate that we don't want anarchy or anarchists in the thread!

Good one!
