I don't want to offend people from florida are anything, but everyone seems to think miami has a dense skyline well maybe because they seen pictures like this from wiki

Miami skyline:

well if you looked at miami from an aerial veiw you will see it's not dense or big or anything but small its just a bunch of buildings on the edge of the harbor giving a apperance of density.

Here's what I'am talking about:

see the buildings are not that big and they are all clustered to the edge of the harbor i dont see what is so dense about it.

and were are all the supposley "TALL" buildings

and yes these are frequent.

So what is the deal? Sorry if I made people from flordia mad just asking a honest question.

THANKS

Actually, most people based on about 3 or 4 past polls on here seem to say that Houston, Seattle or SF has the 3rd best skyline and I agree that any of those 3 looks better than Miami's skyline

Miami has natural beauty to help its skyline. Houston or San Fran easily are better than miami. Houston is waaaay taller....and San Fran has two beautiful bridges and the pacific to give it a huuge edge over miami. Miami in my honest opinion is 5th or 6th best. The city itself is wonderful but the skyline is way overrated. sorry.

Miami has a great skyline, but it's not original or anything different from other skylines around the world. It's definatly different from other US skylines ( except Hololulu and a few others). Houston,SF and Seattle are all very unigque and different. Houston has it's bland and boring but powerful skyline. Seattle with is big, beautiful, and powerful skyline also to include the needle. San Francisco is some what similar to Seattle's but its more dense and the rolling hills it was built on.

I like Miami's skyline a lot but part of that has to do with it's water setting. But none of the buildings are that distinctive or impressive, they're nice but nothing notable. I don't get what the hype is about Houston's skyline either, it seems similar to Miami in that there are tall buildings surrounded by low density sprawl, none of the buildings or structures are that distinctive either.

I dont think Miami's skyline is that great. I would put Philly, Boston, Seattle ahead on Miami because those cities have built their skylines up over time. Miami just threw up 20 + buildings to get that title. Sorry it shouldn't work that way.

Miami has a great skyline. It is one of the best in the US. In my opinion, the skyline rankings would go like this:

10: Houston
9: Boston
8: Dallas
7: Philadelphia
6: Atlanta
5: Miami
4: San Francisco
3: Seattle
2: Chicago
1: New York City

Honorable mention goes to Honolulu and Los Angeles.
