Massachusetts is beautiful.
I voted for NJ as well because i know as a state, NJ offers more, but you know very well that MA is beautiful, there's no point to put down MA to give NJ points.

No, no, he's right. The entire state of Mass is hideous.

Yuck! Nantucket!

Ewwwwww Martha's Vineyard

North Shore (Manchester-by-the-Sea)

South Shore (Scituate...my home!)

Massachusetts is a nice state in its own right - Has Boston which is one of the only Northeastern cities (if not the only Northeastern city) I actually enjoy, history in Salem and Sturbridge, nice beaches in Cape Cod, decent New England cuisine, a great amusement park (Six Flags New England) and a few more things of note. That said, Massachusetts has possibly the worst politics in the nation (Surpassing even California and Vermont, I would say) and even though New Jersey isn't much better in this department, I prefer NJ for other reasons (extreme diversity of landscape and homestate bias ).

That being said, a guy has balls for wearing a Yankees shirt in Boston. The last time I was in Boston was a few years ago and even though I wasn't wearing a Yankees shirt and really have little to no interest in baseball, people went out of their way to make it clear to me that Yankees fans weren't welcomed in their city. I feel like a black man in 1920's Mississippi had less to fear than a Yankees fan in Boston.
I have news for you. Wearing a Yankees shirt in many American cities is not welcome. The Evil Empire had it's cleats on the throats of the rest of MLB for 70 years. As far as reactions go, you will get some ribbing but that's it. Despite what the immature little gum-snapper above says, it's not a big deal.
BTW Massachusetts has a much much more varied landscape than NJ does.
Oh and we have our own big city.

I didnt vote because I really couldn't make up my mind. They are both great states, although NJ is closer to where my kids live. I really like Ma. and New England in general.

After Florida, I would gladly move to either NJ or Ma.
