New Jersey or Connecticut, maybe Vermont? That way you are a few hours away from NY.

Most of our cities are overrated and would never pass for a city for the rest of the world. Sorry to say it, but it's true. People around the world laugh at places like Dallas, LA, Vegas, etc. However, we do have great natural beauty.

You're exactly right, but tell that to the person who insists NY is the center of universe. I just get very frustrated with people like that who think anything west of NY is hickville. All my Jersey relatives were like that -- I was the only one to get out when I was still young. The rest of them died there without ever seeing the rest of the country. See where I'm coming from here? I grew up in the country and had a lot of time to think and always knew I'd leave.

As cities go, yeah, NY is a great one, but there are other cities just as good. I'm also glad I don't live somewhere where bragging about how big the roaches are is the local sport. Anyway, if you want big roaches, go to Texas -- been there, done that too -- no thanks. And while we're thinking of TX, why don't we all say a prayer for those poor people in the hurricane. The gravity of the situation there makes all these arguments very unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Good for you. But most NYers don't care about the rest of the country, they're too busy making international deals. Welcome to Corporate America, pal... Lead by New York.

And no, there aren't cities that are just as great as New York. Only city in NYC's league is London.

Yes, I know they don't care. Why?!

Go Giants. I still have my Dad's Giants cap that he used to wear proudly.

Because they know what this city's worth. Al-Queda didn't attack NYC because it's the only city in America, they attacked it because it's worth the most to this country.

At least we agree on the Giants.

WHEN is the last time you've been to New York? 1980?

I don't live in New York (yet) but I've visited my friends many times, and they lives in an absolutely beautiful, pristine, leafy neighborhood in New York that is nothing like you've described.

New York is just fabulous. New York is the center of the universe. Get over it. New York, of course, isn't everybody cup of tea as it draws some of the most intelligent, sophisticated, driven and successful people and those that can't cut it and strongly dislike New York (like you) are usually losers who are better off living in their crappy podunk towns and settling for life of mediocrity.

Do you really think your mountain town is even 1% as good as New York? Ew.

No, I don't think my mountain town is even 1% as good as New York. It's 100% better.

Frankly, your use of your favorite expression (get over it) is starting to nauseate me and probably everybody else on this thread. I suggest you call out for a pizza and chill out with a beer or whatever you drink.

I'm over and out.........talking with you is a waste of time.

And where did everybody else move to from 2000-2005? New York attracts thousands daily. NYC gains more population per year than any other city in the country, although Atlanta and Dallas are two of the fastest growing cities, we have nothing to worry about because we're more than twice as large as the 2nd largest city in the country and still gaining more people per year than Los Angeles. The amount of power and money concentrated in New York puts the wild, wild west to shame. Those Hollywood pop stars are softies and they have no power, they just got lucky... Los Angeles is rich, New York is rich and powerful. They didn't place the United Nations International Headquarters in New York for nothing, the terrorists didn't aim their attacks at New York for nothing, yuppies aren't taking over for nothing. New York is the place to be once again for the young professional, the aspiring musician wishing to start a band, and the city boy in general. Los Angeles is the place to be for the beach-goers, skaters, pop stars, and other suburban nonsense.
