Why is this on the general forum? I think you meant to put it under California.

Children's Hospital in north Fresno, off the 41 freeway, Children's Hospital Central California. Interesting architecture surrounded (at this time) by open fields.

Hi Stella,

I posted this on another forum but I'll add it here too.

Are you looking only for within the city limits or would things in the metro area, say in Clovis be included?

Also you mention the Mardi Gras Parade, so would you also want major events and/or major parades?

And would you want commercial attractions? For example, Sammy Hagar just opened a Cabo Wabo in Fresno.

I'd add:

Meux Home Museum
http://www.meux.mus.ca.us/

Artes Americas museum
http://www.arteamericas.org/

Art Hop (1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month)
about.fresnoarts.net/index.php…

The Coke Hallowell River Center (part of the river parkway but a nice nature museum)
www.riverparkway.org/riverCenterExhibits.asp

Candlelight Christmas on Huntington Blvd. (includes the longest-lit living Christmas tree in the country)

Places/attractions that are more minor but might be considered for inclusion

The Arboretum at Fresno State

American Historical Society of Germans From Russia Museum

San Joaquin Valley African-American Museum

Crime insults? LOL That was a real useful comment considering the original poster's request and intent.

Per Capita, auto theft in the Fresno MSA is lower than the San Diego MSA, Las Vegas MSA, Tucson MSA, Albuquerque MSA, and the Bay Area.
https://www.nicb.org//HotSpots/index1.html

Per capita, the murder rate in the city of Fresno is lower than the city of San Francisco, the city of Sacramento, and others. For example:
Fresno (population 485,000) 30 homicides so far this year = 6.2 per 100,000 people
San Francisco (population 744,000) 84 homicides so far in 2008 = 11.3 per 100,000 residents

Sounds like other places have more crime "sights" to see than Fresno.
