My mother told me when her and her siblings went to NC as kids, people called them "yankees" & "city slicker" because they were from Baltimore.

And there are people from deep south states such as AL and MS who thinkthat the north starts at North Carolina so what are you trying to say?

Nobody cares about the Northeast Corridor? It's only the richest region in the US which holds the seat of power and finance in the U.S. How is MD a brother state with NC but not PA? From Northeast, MD you can get to Jersey in 35 minutes, Philly in 45 minutes. NC is 4 hours away but it is a brother state with MD??? WTF. Stop making up sh&t, you sound ridiculous.
Dude only the media uses the term go and ask an everyday person what is the Northeast Corridor and see what they say. Maryland is the upper south like North Carolina and Virginia, its has prestigious college sport teams like North Carolina and Virginia all which are rivals and in the ACC, has a similar look like North Carolina and Virginia, are the most liberal southern states not named Florida, has a lot of rural areas like North Carolina and Virgina, has hurricanes like North Carolina and Virgina, lot of residents and Maryland are from North Carolina and Virginia and vice versa, slaves, jim crow laws and segregation like North Carolina and Virginia, has a lot of northerners residing like North Carolina and Virginia, major crop used to be tobacco like North Carolina and Virgina.

Tell me why the Census is the only place that still uses mason-dixon line standards? I doubt anyone in the census even gives a damn.
But we'll see in 2020, they may be some modifications. But the regions should go by time zones instead.
Yea and the media is always right? Lol. Who has higher authority CNN or the government? We all know the anwser and stop trying to deny Maryland its southern past. Yes it 2011 and the mason dixon line still counts and if you say it doesnt than you are saying that the underground railroad didnt mean a thing, Harriet Tubman doesnt exist, and insulting the african americans that been through much in the south and having to fight for equal rights, rights to votes, end segregation, died, etc.

So what?
Kunte Kente first came to Annapolis, Maryland.
Frederick Douglass was from Maryland.
The dude that killed Lincoln was fro Maryland.
Maryland could've been the first state to have slaves (which may be true) and I still wouldn't call it dixie.

The percentage of people in both states who claim they are southern are of vast minority to those who claim northern. That's IN the states.

Just like the northern half of West Virginia, there is hardly anything southern about them. Even in plant life (Scot's pine anybody? Major north-eastern tree).

On top of that, both Maryland and Delaware are in the North-east Mega region (AKA Megalopolis) with NYC, and Boston.

Face it, as the nation grew in size those states became north-eastern in location and over-riding culture. Especially Delaware which is excluded by the M-D line itself.

Virginia = Top o' the south.

Maryland = Bottom of the North-east

Just look at a map. Look very very hard. They are clearly up north.
Maryland and Delaware mega region megapolis? LMAOOOO dying with laugher. Theres no comparison from those true northeastern cities you named as we already know because they are without a shadow of a doubt the northeast starting from Maine on down to PA. Don't even get me started on the West VA the most hillbiliy, redneck and racist state in the south. You really need to pop open a history book or experience true northeastern cities like Hartford, Manhattan,Philly, boston and think before you open your mouth about a subject you know 0 about
