On the radio today a news blurb said that illegal immigration from Mexico has decreased dramatically since the U.S. economy seems to be slowing down. If the downturn continues maybe it will be time for some of us to head South to Mexico LOL.

Well if job are scarcer there will be tons of competition even between illegals... it would make less sense to come here if the competition is just as rough as it is in Mexico.

Plus we couldn't go to Mexico, they throw the illegals into jail then out of their Country. They don't give them welfare and jobs like we do.

I doubt it would get that bad that people would migrate to Mexico illegally.

Actually they have their own problems, similar to what we have.
The Central American run in there and take a few of the jobs, often getting abused like they do here in the US. |

Mexico is a mess right now. So are we. Mexicans in this country might go home to their families and homes if we are doing so poorly. they came here for economic reasons, so if that's not there - why wouldn't they go back to their friends and family?
I doubt born and bred Americans will be running south of the border. They'll go north way before they go south.
