I think the real kicker for me would be lattitude. I don't think I could handle those short, almost nonexistent days at the extreme northerly lattitude of Stockholm in winter. NYC, without a doubt.

The shortest day in Stockholm is 6 hrs 10 min of daylight.
The longest day is 18 hr 20 min.
Like I said...short days! 6 hours, sheesh... go to work in the dark...come home in the dark. I couldn't take that.
And an 18 hour day!!:O:O:O OMG, talk about driving someone psycho!
Well, it's the same here. You come home to work in the dark, because the longest day here, the sun set at 4:30 PM in NYC. People usually come home between 5 - 7.
And for example in London, the shortest day is 7.5 hrs daylight, so only 1.5 hrs longer than in Sthlm.
Low to moderate.
Summers are comfortable, so no humid summers in Europe
