See, I don't really have a problem with gay marriage, since I really don't think it's the state's business in the first place.

That being said, I think this is the wrong way to go about it. Hold a cotton-picking referendum and allow the people to decide. Then the electorate as a whole won't think it was shoved down their collective throats.

It's about time.

More states need to follow suit.

If that's the case, slavery, segregatian, and women's rights would probably still not have been approved.

That my friend is polygamy and incest, both of which God clearly states he detests.

Who cares what God thinks? A church or religion shouldn't have to accept a gay marriage but the state has no business denying them the right to get married. Let them get married. Have you ever met a gay person that doesn't deserve to be happy? They're the nicest people you will ever come across. I think America needs a gay Jew for President. We'd have a surplus and everything would look clean and snazzy.

Personally, I don't believe in any kind of marriage, but some people do so let them have it. They'll probably get divorced in 2 years anyway.

Oh come on, polygamy is actually Biblical. Study your Old Testament sometime.

Whoa! I missed your point all together as sometimes happens when I don't pay much attention to the names of the posters. I was under the impression that you don't approve of gay relationships any more than incest or polygamy until I read your post #16. In Genesis, you will find God's marriage model is clearly articulated in the Garden of Eden. That model is based on one man and one woman. Are you saying he approves of gays because they "love each other?" It's just as wrong as incest and polygamy and I will never be convinced otherwise.

Just for the record, if God Himself comes to Earth and tells me he approves of gay marriages, I will always disapprove of them. Although I love the Lord, I would not agree with Him in this care no matter what.

California, my home, (How could you?) and CT and MA, how profoundly sad. As I stated in another post, this country is continuing its decline before the end times. I believe I just might live long enough to see it happen.

I think there is a huge difference between gay marriages and segregation, women's rights and slavery.

Who says nature is not slowing its own population growth? Go hug your Bible.

I don't think it is neccesary to blame religion for that kind of attitude regarding gay marriage. I go to church every week and I completely support gay rights/marriage as does everyone else I hang out with here in Houston (and they go to church too!)
