You're lucky to live in a place like Maine.

Of places I've lived:
Nastiest: Toss-up between Little Rock, Arkansas and southern Texas.
Friendliest: Florence, Alabama.

Of places I've only visited:
Nastiest: New Orleans, with Dallas a close second.
Friendliest: Minneapolis.

I second that..

Without doubt, Miami has the nastiest, most agressively hostile to the human interests of their fellow man, people this side of the Middle East.

RUDEST CITIES

From my experiences from dealing with customers all over the USA. (1) Florida but South Florida in particular. Lots of scammers there. (2) Would be Washington DC and close suburbs. (3) Philadelphia and towns within 15 miles of city center. (4) Boston/Eastern Mass (5) Connectict (6) Los Angeles Ca (7) Arkansas and Missouri (Lots of angry hicks) (8) Maryland (9) Small farm towns in the midwest Indiana, Illinois, kentucky ect. (10) The bigger cities of Texas

NICEST CITIES

(1) New York City.. Best people in the world to deal with if you treat them right. Screw them over and that is another story. (2) Suburbs of NYC, including Long Island and Northern New Jersey (3) North Carolina (3) Minnesota (4) Buffalo New York and several other cities in that part of the state (5) San Diego (6) Utah (7) Georgia (8) Western PA (9) Ohio (10)South Carolina

Anybody who says that any decently populated area is nasty must have done something to deserve the nastiness. There is no such thing as a nasty city or area. Just ignorant nasty people who bring it on themselves.

I'll third Philadelphia as the nastiest... or one of them anyway. Friendliest, from my experiences would be Durham/Chapel Hill, NC.
