today i went for a leisurely drive down in Southern Indiana. drove down several roads and noticed that not a single one of them had a speed limit sign. although i did see a sign on RR 142 that said "reasonable to conditions". atleast a few of the roads i went down even 25mph seemed to fast. so are there any roads out there in the Great United States that have no speed limit signs what so ever??

Montana used to have a speed limit posted as 'reasonable and proper', but it's now speed limit 75. Parts of west Texas on I-10 and I-20 have an 80 mph speed limit. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets here.
Yes, I wish we had some roads here with unlimited speeds, much like the autobahn in Germany. There are some interstates out west that have such little traffic where no speed limits would not be a problem. But, good luck in ever seeing this happen here. Until then, you'll just have to risk a speeding ticket to have some fun.
i actually remember no speed limits in Montana I-94 was dubbed the American Autobahn. I think the state legistlature reversed that decision in 2004 i believe
Agree that a lot of rural roads don't have signs posting their speed limits, but I think the states have what is acceptable and "default" speed limits depending on the type of road it is. Probably in the manual you are supposed to read before you go to renew your drivers license (like anybody ever actually does that )
There's a lot of roads here in St. Joseph County, MI, with no posted speed limit. However, it's understood that the speed limit on those roads is 55.
Understood by whom? If I were a tourist doing 76 miles per hour, could I receive a speeding ticket when there is no POSTED speed limit merely because there is an "implied" limit of 55?

In Michigan, yes you could. It is written in the handbook for the state and it is up to individual drivers to know the law, regardless if you are local or not. There isn't even a freeway in Michigan that has a limit over 70, so 76 on a side road would net you one no matter what.
Pretty much anywhere in the Philadelphia/south Jersey area
Signs...maybe,actual enforcement...nil.
