Is it rare to come from a town of less the 5,000? (high school, live in)

Everybody I see on here is from a big city, or at least a suburb of a big city. I grew up in a small town of around 1,200 and my graduating class had 70 people. Yet "small town" on this forum is classified as 20,000. Is this a rarity? Or are more people on here actually from small towns?
You're not alone. I'm from a town of about 3,000 (which isn't *that* small, anyway - all the neighbouring villages are smaller). My graduating class had 85 or something like that.
But I'm pretty sure that at least 80% of the American population lives in "urban areas" as defined by the census.

Not really. Most small towns that have a high school may have kids from 4 or 5 other smaller towns in the area that go there. I live in a town of 1200 and the school enrollment is 1700. Usually graduate around 125 kids per class, with a few of the lower grades being much larger than usual the last couple of years.
I was born in a town of 56...yes they changed the sign when I was born to 57.
The largest town before Orlando I lived in was Peoria, Ill.
Before that the average was 3,000.
When we retire we refuse to look at a town with more that 10K in the population.
Wow- you guys come from cities! LOL- I think there are roughly 4,000 people that live on my island, and most of the graduating classes have less than 40 kids- my sons 4th grade has 17 kids total. I had 35 in my graduating class (1990).
