I am sure Vermont has a lot of superlatives. But powerful? Does syrup and ice cream make one powerful? Fat maybe..........

Power from what? It's mighty population base? It's large military bases? It's industry? It's sports teams?

If this were an election cycle ago, I would say the most powerful thing out of Vermont would be the volume of Howard Dean's voice, but that isn't an issue anymore......

Beauty, moutains, skiing, clean, prosperous, liberal.... I'd go for those, but powerful?

For some, it could be the sense that once you're there, you don't want to leave. That's pretty powerful.

Wife and I recently got back from 5 day trip to Vermont to look at the leaves. We left a lot of our nasty old Texas money in the state. The locals were happy to get it. Wow, what a beautiful state in the fall. The people were great too. We had a wonderful time. The only negative everyone told us was to get out before the snow came, but i think it would be neat to see the snow in the mountains (we dont get too much here in Texas). Anyway, thanks to all the Vermont residents who made our stay wonderful.
