What are some cities that you dont ever hear about, or dont get enough credit.
such as I never ever hear anything about Wichita,Kansas, wether it be news or just people talking about the place.
Milwaukee is big city that I never hear anything about,if its not sports you wont hear about it.
What are some others.
A lot of those large suburban cities out West, places like Mesa, Aurora, Plano, Arlington (TX), are overshadowed by their neighbors. Hell, there are dozens of cities in the Los Angeles area with a population of over 100,000 that most people haven't heard of.
I think other bigger cities that get ignored include St. Paul, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Memphis, El Paso, San Jose, Tucson, Jacksonville and Omaha.
In the northeast: Buffalo, NY. Syracuse, NY. Rochester, NY, Providence, RI
In the south: Greenville, SC, Tallahassee, FL, Jackson, MS, Corpus Cristi, TX
In the west: Fresno, CA, Bakersfield, CA, Spokane, WA
In the midwest: Eau Claire, WI, Grand Rapids, MI, Des Moines, IA
Northeast Jefferson, Colorado - Never even heard of it. Never in my life. Population; 450,116
No such place. There's a county called "Jefferson County" which is on the west side of the Denver metro area-- that's probably what you're thinking of. Largest city in Jeffco is Lakewood, population 140,000.
Secondary cities, while not always small in size, in states with tier I or II cities tend to get ignored.
For example:
Tuscon, AZ
Sacramento, CA
Santa Fe, NM
Colorado Springs, CO
Talahassee, FL
Norfolk, VA
Topeka, KS
etc...
All these places may be very well known regionally, but somebody off the street clear across the country wouldn't know them. For instance many people assume the capital of New York is NYC or the capital of California is LA.
