Going on a cross country road trip soon and was wondering where I could stop oh so often to get some sweet fried chicken.

Any specific cities and/or restaurants come to mind (besides KFC of course!)

Your local ghetto.

(If you're stopping by Dayton, Ohio, there is this great place called Chicken Louie's on North Main street. Sometimes, there are people outside dressed in Chicken costumes that actually hustle you!)

Here you go: The Seafood & Chicken Box in Centerpoint, Alabama, a few miles northeast of Birmingham. Can you say foodgasm?

I always hear how Atlanta has great fried chicken, but I really couldn't name a place.

If you're hitting the Portland-Metro (Oregon) area, you may as well just stop at Popeye's. This area has the crappiest fried chicken! And restaurants who THINK they make good fried chicken, merely dredge in flour and skip the spices. Granted, this is not the south. But even my European mother in central California could make better fried chicken than what I can find here.

Are you going to post this same thread into the states you plan to visit? That may help.

Well if you come through Louisville I like Indie's. I don't tend to go out much for fried chicken though, if I want it and have time, I make it.
