I work in Beaverton where NIKE has their headquarters. Yes, it's huge, and it employs a lot of people (marketing, designing, etc). However, it is just that ~ headquarters! The shoes have always been manufactured in Third World Countries and yet they still cost up into 3 figures per pair.

Both are terrible, but Target is the better of the two. Walmart, by and large, has the lowest forms of humanity in its stores.

Comparing Wal Mart to other giant corporatations isn't doing any justice.
I'm not quite sure how it's more beneficial to buy the same product from Mom and Pop's. More expensive maybe, so the community gets more sales tax!

Why are Wal-Mart shoppers and workers the lowest form of humanity ? Do the majority of them consist of terrorists, gangbangers, serial killers, rapists, and pedophiles ?

Target. Mostly because they don't do under-handed **** to their employees to the same degree Walmart does.

I used to be a die-hard Walmart shopper. We had a small store in our town, not one of the supercenters. However, a couple of years ago, they closed the smaller store, leaving it empty. The loss of Walmart as an anchor caused all the other stores in the strip mall to pull out also, so now we have a huge building sitting empty.

Instead of working with what they had, which was always busy and well-stocked, Walmart built a supercenter in our town. A huge new building on what used to be pasture land. This new store may look good on the outside, but on the inside it's a disaster. They are woefully understaffeed and are out of products half the time (like paper towels or toilet paper, real rare, luxury items ). They did away with the layaway department in favor of the Walmart credit card, which of course comes with interest, which layaway never did. The other week I went in to try to buy a small piece of fabric only to find they had discontinued the fabric department, along with most of the other arts/crafts supplies. I'm not quite sure what they replaced it with, just junk it looked like.

They can't provide customer service anymore, they're too big.

I avoid going in their as much as I can. We'll be getting a Target in a few months and I can't wait.

Oh, and one more thing...I recently went into Walmart and tried NOT to buy things made in China. I couldn't find even one thing that wasn't.

Five years ago I purchased Corelle dishes there that were made in the USA, but now the same set is made in China. And people wonder what's wrong with this country?

You won't find fabric or crafts in Target, either. Nor will you find much that is made in the USA. Someone got up a petition at our WM to keep the fabric dept, which they did (don't know if it was b/c of the petition or not). As I said before, Target does not sell scrubs for nurses, either, but WM does.
