I know Spain has a culture of staying up very late but their day doesn't start that late. But I think if they got rid of the siesta they could add another couple hours to the morning sleep! I'm with you I'm definitely a night person. Hell, here I am posting at 3:50 AM!!

The only place in the US like this is college haha. I arranged it so on Tuesdays and Thursdays I don't have any classes before noon and I'm done at 6:45. A couple of semesters ago I never had a class before 2PM but that was actually very bad for me. I stayed up later and later and eventually it got to the point that I woke up at 1:30! That is too late for anyone :b

The East Coast generally starts later than the West Coast. I think it's because of the time difference.

In New York, many offices start the day at 9:00. My law firm starts at 9:30, and attorneys coming in a 10:00 is not unusual.

When I lived in Minneapolis, work usually started at 8:00. When I lived in Hawaii, it often started at 7:00 or even 6:30 (for office work). That was painful.

A lot of people have given good insight. There is not a city that fits exactly what you describe. But Las Vegas comes close since so many people work night jobs (casinos, etc). I've heard that a lot of businesses in Las Vegas stay open 24 hours because of this (if a place is open 24 hours, you can work whenever you'd like).

They must have to stay late into June, though. I remember one year I started school on September 9 and we didn't get out until June 23

I think it just depends on the office. At my job right outside DC in Virginia I'm usually the last one in my department to arrive at 7:30 everyone else comes in at 6:30 and 7:00. Everyone is allowed to choose their shifts but 8:00 is the latest maybe 8:30 if you have an unusual circumstance. There was definitely pressure to not pick the "late" shift since it would probably mean being the only person on my floor after 5 (we work 9 hour days in the summer to get every other Friday off).

It seems that those in the suburbs work earlier than those in the city. Just about anyone I talk who works in DC consider hours crazy as they wouldn't dream of trying to get to work before 9. So it is definitely relative.

I would tell the OP to try to find a job that starts later or better a 2nd or 3rd shift job. A lot of people I know who work 3rd shift love it. A lot of companies have a hard time obtaining and keeping 3rd shift workers so a vampire who wants to work those hours is going to be welcomed with open arms.
