As this year begins its final month, I would like everyone to post something from 2008 that has made them happy, sad, or something that has had a profound affect on you that made 2008 memorable in your opinion.

The one year I've had here on City-Data has really changed me and made me think differently about the world. I have also lost someone who was like a 3rd grandpa to me, he was my music teacher and he taught me at the age of 95! He was a very extraordinary man and I will always remember him.

My trip to New York City earlier this year was my favorite experience of 2008. Manhattan was just so amazing!

Very thoughtful of you. Rememberance: lost two dear relatives to cancer in 2008. Hope to see them in heaven one day.

This year for the most part has been exciting and went by fast. It feels like it just started and I can't believe we're in the last month. Anyhow, January 2008 I was in Pensacola, FL, and in February I moved to the Tokyo area of Japan and been living here since, and seeing the many sites that this country has to offer, and exeriencing the culture. Another highlight of the year is visiting Georgia in the summer time.

There have also been some tough times, like with the economy and value of the dollar declining compared to the yen (I'm in the military so I still get paid in USD). Also the tenant living in my real condo back in San Diego stopped paying rent and I had to evict her, which added to the problem of owning the place that I couldn't sell due to the declining housing market. There have been ups and downs with the first year of married life.

The year ended with a sense of hope after the news we received on Nov. 4th. It was also a time when we realized it was a historic turning point in our culture. Pop culture wise, the music has been pretty good, an improvement from 2006 and 2007 which isn't saying much. My favorite song from this year is "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay. Movie wise its been ok, only a few worth buying on Blu Ray such as The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Jumper, Wanted, and Get Smart. With TV shows, I've been into Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles, Season 4 of Lost, The Office, Family Guy, and American Dad.

Overall, 2008 has been pretty good for me, at least the best year since 2005 which isn't saying much since 2006 was pretty bad and 2007 wasn't much better.

Not much has changed this year, but if what I think will happen in January happens, I'm getting a promotion. *keeps fingers crossed*

Going to Orlando for Wrestlemania 24 and sitting front row as well as getting backstage passes to meet the wrestlers was by far my favorite experience of 2008 by a landslide.

2008 will always be the year I lost 30 pounds and lost my beloved grandma. It will also be the year I moved back to the northside of my town to save some cash. 2009 will be the year I move back to the core somewhere.
