So you've never heard of the College World Series, the West Roads mall shooting that happened on December 5th of 2007, one of the best zoos in the country, Henry Doorly Zoo, Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet (the richest man in the world)

Never insult me or my city

I grew up there and I have never heard that. I would vote for Madison also - such a great city. A real gem.

This is true, Indianapolis is barely growing at all. However, Indy metro contains two of the fastest growing counties in the country, Hamilton and Hendricks. I think that is impressive considering Indy is still growing, albiet at a very slow pace.

Holy crap man, your city is remarkable because of a mall shooting? And for the record, no, I have never heard of your zoo. I have heard of the college World Series, let me know when that becomes an important event such as the Final Four and Super Bowl, events Indianapolis will be hosting. We also host on an annual basis the world's largest single day sporting event. Also, please do not bring up how the CWS is an annual event, Indy gets the Final Four every five years, and has scores of other events it hosts year round (I am sure Omaha does too).

Sorry, this is not what I like to do, getting into mid sized city slap fights. Sorry.

Look, I do not have a problem with Omaha. It just seems in every thread where it is possible to fit it in, there is at least one, often more, over the top gloat fest from the Omaha people as to why everyone should care about Omaha. Come on, the post I originally quoted was waaaaaayy over the top for the purpose of this thread. This is the only type of thing I am really talking about. I certainly do not have a problem with civic pride.

To add, it would seem based on the rep point messages and DM's I have recieved today, there are quite a few people who agree with me.

Charleston, SC.

And although it's a bit bigger than the others, Austin, TX.

Your post didn't annoy me like the other 2 did, plus you had the kindness to at least apologize and sorry about Ehenningsen, but that post was made a year ago and he is the kind of guy to though out statistics and that is over the top, though WILWRadio saying we have inferiority complexes was just plain rude

Well,I am having fun getting sun burnt in Albuquerque and it feels good, and by the way Albuquerque is growing faster than Omaha but no one cares and I dont promote that.

We are not overshadowed by Phoenix,I dont know a single person that relies on Phoenix for anything and our city dosent either, and maybe to the rest of the country Phoenix might take all the attention but I'm sure people here dont mind. ABQ is very content the way it is and dosent try to be like every other city.ABQ has a lot of character and history and people want to keep it that way.The New Mexican lifestyle is alot different than other states.

ABQ dosent have much of a skyline and most like it like that,I dont but most do,most people dont move to ABQ for the skyline anyways as thats obvious of the growth in the metro area. Some people think if they add skyscrapers they ruin their mountain or mesa views. The people here are not concerned with what another city does and we are not Omaha trying to be Any City,USA.

I know the college world series is played in Omaha but I couldnt even tell you in what month it takes place cause I never hear about it and I dont care too,Ive never watched college baseball before.

I did hear about the mall shooting, so there is 1 time I did hear of it outside of the forum.

I've never heard of the zoo, or the rest that you mentioned.

and if you took my post as a insult you need to not be so sensitive, how can you survive in this messed up corrupt world being so sensitive,I dont know, and I never isulted Omaha,I just said to me its nothing special and thats true.

Well, I lived in Omaha and I while I didn't think it was an awful place I hardly consider it to be a major city and it certainly has not reached major metro status either.

The way you OVER PROMOTE the place and try to make it appear bigger and better than it really is suggests, from a psychological perspective, that you are indeed worried about the image around the country and are attempting to turn it into something it has not yet achieved. I see the very same thing in Kansas City too. A few people down here seem to claim this is a World Class City when it is nothing of the sort.

When did I claim it was World Class? I just point out the things happening here so people don't think Omaha is some stagnant town in the Plain, besides, whats happening here is something to promote, should Chicago not promote the Chicago Spire? Or should New York not promote the new World Trade Center? By the way, The Kansas City Star, The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune and several other significant News Papers and Magazines have had articles about whats happening in Omaha.
