You figure it out.

I won't go into detail but I've seen that happen.

I nominate Sumter, SC as one of the most dangerous cities under 75,000.

The assault rate per capita is particularly high.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Port Arthur, TX yet.
The majority of the town is the ghetto. The nicer side of PA is still the hood.

I laugh how people growing up always thought Waterloo, Iowa was so dangerous - that it was the most dangerous place in the state.

It has 70,000 people, 1 murder and 83 robberies for the latest stats.

Youngstown, Ohio has 80,000 people, with 32 murders and 358 robberies.

Camden, NJ has 80,000 people with 32 murders and 773 robberies.

City/Crime Rate Index using 2009 FBI numbers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...0%93_60,000%29
United States cities by crime rate (60,000-100,000) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These are just violent crime rates indexing Murder, Ag Assault, Robbery, Rape, etc.

Saginaw, MI 25.33
Wilmington, DE 18.49
Pontiac, MI 18.38
Irvington, NJ 18.2
Harrisburg, PA 17.7
Compton, CA 15.52

Chester, PA and East St. Louis are also extremely high, but too small in population to be indexed by Wikipedia/FBI

Saginaw,MI and Irvington,NJ take the wrap by a landslide. Its violent crime crime is over 2,000... its way over the runner ups.
