Try the out lined cities near Eugene, OR. Eugene its self is very liberal. Might be a bit of a culture shock! The location is GREAT though. 1.5 hours from the beack and about the same to snow ski. There are lots of other out door activities as well. It is very beautiful here.

I wasn't too impressed with Bend. I thought it was kind of ugly and dry.
