Still would like to see GTA 6 in Chicago though.
You must be thinking about the 90s. It really is Chicago now. LA is not on the level as Chicago for the decade.

and before that NYC was more dangerous.

I'm speaking about culturally, all around the world people have been emulating LA gang culture, people wanna be bloods and crips, hell even emulating that LA cholo culture, they haven't been doing that **** with the Vice Lords or whatever else, or at least not at the same level. I'm not saying that LA has the most gang violence I'm merely saying that LA is the cultural capital of gangs, the place gangs take after, arguably the most dangerous street gang in the world was born in LA's Pico Union district.

Street gangs maybe. A lot of cities got more history of gangs or culture of it than LA.

And again talking about now and any emulation is of the past.

This has nothing to do with you being in Los Angeles right?

Emulation happens in the present as well.

No opinion exists in a vacuum.

It's Stones on 87th n Exchange that **** is ****ed up over there .And I think it Dragon's on 89th n Exchange. One thing about Chicago is you'll be at war with the *****s on the next block and might have an altercation with opposition taking your garbage to the alley. Like I said the enemy could literally be on the next block.

In fact people from LA will hate to admit this, but what turned into one of the very first blood gangs in LA- the Black P. Stone Rangers started on Blackstone Ave in Chicago, and then a branch started in the Baldwin Vista area in LA. And eventually they turned into bloods, but they still kept the name of Blackstone Ave in Chicago in their name. Today the Black P Stones in LA are actually one of the most dangerous blood sets in LA. The ones in Chicago are not bloods and are under the People allliance.
Your Los Angeles neighborhood is slightly off it was not middle class homes of Baldwin Vista but rather The Jungles with their Section 8 housing and much greater population density later to be re-branded as Baldwin Village. I remember being in The Jungle's elementary school Hillcrest in the late 60s early 70s and hearing kids talking about their older brothers in the Blackstones joining up with the Pirus out of Compton and the Bounty Hunters among others as an alliance which where not Crips were forming. but there was relatively little effect compared to what I saw in the mid 80s when I finished my army enlistment. Before there were no stories of kids not knowing their street name but being able to identify the local gang set when they were lost I don't know when it happened but Blackstones morphed into Black P. Stones somewhere and I always assumed the P was for Piru, it being an alternate identifier for Blood.

I do wonder how much of that we can place on the movie Colors and NWA and gangsta rap taking street gangs into the mainstream of worldwide public consciousness.

New Mexico is up where I'd expect it. We got one of the most dangerous gangs in the country: APD.
