The southern states have the highest obesity rates.

StateMaster - Statistics > Overweight and Obesity Rate (Latest available) by state

7 of the top 10 states are southern states. OTOH, 6 of the 10 thinnest states according to that data linked are in the northeast.

Also, the southern states dominate the top of the list of loss of natural teeth

StateMaster - Statistics > Oral health > Loss of natural teeth (Latest available) by state

8 of the top 10 states are southern states.

The top 15 states in retaining their natural teeth are all in the west, north, or midwest. No southern states to be found.

Conclusion: The folks in the south are the ugliest, led by West Virginia, who has the 2nd fattest people and the most loss of natural teeth of any state. So West Virginia wins!

I don't think there are ugly people, only people who say ugly things that I would consider ugly. Outer appearance is only a small amount of our being. What comes out of your mouth says volumes and how you keep up your personal hygiene is of crucial importance.

We can"t help where we were born and we can't help what we look like, but internal beauty goes a long way over external beauty with a bad attitude. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I happen to live in the #2 lost teeth state and no one in my family have lost their teeth. Even my 90 year old Granpa and 83 year old Grandma have theirs! Oh and the 6th fattest and I just so happen to wear a size 5. You can't always judge a state by its stats!

I think the correct Terminology is "phat" lol. I haven't feel victim to the world of slang but I know alot about it.
