How long on average, on a given freeway/ highway would you say it usually takes to drive from one part of your metro area to the other...so from north to south or east to west within the confines of your metro area's communities.
Developed metro I assume you are speaking of? Many metros include undeveloped land within coutnies included in metros. In that case it would take 1.5in Omaha.
Otherwise it only take 30-40mins in light traffic depending on which way you drive.

Wow, that would be from like Orange county to 80 miles east on Long Island. With no traffic at all (that's rare though) it would take about maybe 3 hours. If you drive anywhere from 2-7 at night, it would take you about 5 hours.

There are gaps in intensely developed land along the way in each case. To decide where "developed" vs. "undeveloped" starts and ends in each case would require more investigation.

I think "undeveloped" mostly just counts on the outskirts of the metro. Most metros have pockets here and there which are un/or under-developed.

I did mine from Orange county to eastern Long island. Yours is another way to do it.
(S to N) San Clemente - Ventura = 130 miles
(W to E) Santa Monica - Redlands = 82 miles
