Out of major U.S. cities? For example parks like New York''s central park.

Central Park for downtown urban city parks but I would vote for the large National facilities in and around the larger cities. Gateway NRA, Cuyahoga Valley NP and Golden Gate NRA/Muir Woods NM are right where people need them the most!

For big parks I've been to, I would say Rocky Mountain National, Glacier National, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, or Yellowstone.
