Lived in Chicago for 4 years and never went anywhere else in Illinois whatsoever, the farthest west I ever went in the state was to Schaumburg Mitsuwa and Ikea, never had any desire to...but I've been to several cities in Wisconsin/Indiana though...so when I was there, definitely city.

Only thing that ever piqued my interest in the state, and unfortunately never made it down to is the van der Rohe Farnsworth house.

Neither. Little Rock sucks and so does Arkansas. I am just temporarily "living here".

Sometimes I feel the same way... I'm 28 and I have lived at 16 different addresses in many cities and 3 diff countries, kina hard to claim anything at this point...I'm in FL right now and consider myself just transient as I just got here in December and planning on leaving in August.

The economy has me stuck here in this podunk town. I came here in 2007 for an excellent job offer making way more than most people my age make. I lost my job in fall 2008 and am now working a much lower paying job just barely making ends meet. Ill probably be here another year and then Ill try to get out. Ive traditonally moved around every 2 years anyways as I grew up in a military family. I am 23 now and I want to be somewhere larger, less conservative, and more vibrant.

I'm a Michigander first, but I'm still proud to be from Three Rivers.

I have a lot of pride as a Long islander and also a city girl. Spent more time on Long Island, but I feel it goes both ways since it isn't that different. Since NY state is so diverse, upstate NY is much different than downstate. For that reason, I say I'm a resident of NYC/Long Island above NY state, since you kind of have to verify where in NY you live since it's a big, diverse state.

City first. I've never really identified much with the rest of the state, which is primarily rural. I sometimes even forget to write the state on my return address when I write letters.
