The Dutch for sure. It's not because it's similar to English - sentence structure/grammar is completely different. Many children begin English their first year of school now and by the time they reach high school, their English classes are the same as ours (reading Shakespeare, etc). Most Dutch university classes (especially in business, science, mathematics studies) are conducted in English.

I vote for The Scandinavian countries. I am Swedish but I have lived here in the US for 9 years. I always tell my friends here in the states, that if you ever go to any of the Scandinavian countries, you will almost feel like they are going out of their way to speak English with you. They teach us early on and all American tv shows and movies are in English with Swedish subtitles. Thats how we learn. Me however, sucked in English in school. I received a C my last year in high school. I still have some issues but I am getting better at it. At least I hope so.

Ja, Nicklas speaks very well. I am not sure about Holmstrom. How long has he been here?

I've never been to Sweden, though I did correspond with a Swedish relative who had to get his letters translated into English. If he could speak English, he couldn't write it.

When we were in the Netherlands two years ago, we did meet Dutch speakers who did not speak English. Ditto in Germany.
