How do you guys know what the largest suburb is in an area? Did you look this up, or is it just common knowledge?

Florissant is not the largest suburb of St. Louis.

How do you figure?

You have several cities in metro StLouis that are larger.

O’Fallon 75k
St Charles 65k
St Peters 55k

All those are pretty much bedroom suburbs though. Chesterfield which has around 50k is probably the most important large suburb that also has a lot of office parks etc.

Although I personally consider Clayton as the most important corporate suburb in StL despite its size of only 16k. I’m more interested major corporate/business suburbs like Clayton.

The town of Hempstead with a population of 700K spread out over 150 square miles is by far the most populated town in Nassau/Suffolk and I believe even the most populated town (township) in America. Right next door to NYC (Queens) it contains dozens of villages and hamlets --- some of which look like small cities; Garden City, Freeport, Hempstead (the town center), Lynbrook and my favorite, Rockville Centre.

Recently named #1 place by CNNMoney.com to start up a business and live nearby. It really is a NICE place, but it isn't my vibe ... too suburbany LOL.

Aurora, second-largest city in Illinois with a whopping population of 160,000 or so. Not much to look at either, therefore no photos.
