Orlando:

Like:

1. Great Year round weather (the humidity does not bother me one bit.)
2. World's best theme park collection.
3. Clean and well landscaped city for the most part.
4. Great neighborhoods in the heart of the city.
5. Centrally located in Florida, making access to many beaches and attractions convenient.

Dislike:

1. The public schools could be better.
2. We could use better public transportation.
3. Not as urban in look or feel as many other cities.
4. Crazy, aggressive drivers.
5. That's about all I can think of at the moment but I know there are others...

New Orleans

Likes:
1. Food
2. Festivals...not just Jazz, but French Quarter, Strawberry, Voodoo, Crawfish, Oyster, etc
3. Sports...the Saints dictate the mood of the city Sept-Jan, and no one rallies behind their team like we do
4. Laissez fare attitude...drink, gamble, party whenever
5. Natural scenery...I love water, so the river, lakes, and bayous strike a cord with me

Dislikes:
1. City govt...very corrupt/inept
2. Summers...May-Sept is like a sauna
3. Crime...the white collar crime is just as bad as the violent crime, IMHO. (keeps business away -> keeps middle class away -> which keeps city poor from no taxes -> no funding for public schools or cops ->worsening crime)
4. Lack of support from the rest of the state
5. Laissez fare...it's a double edge sword.

Boston

Likes

1. Location - by the ocean excellent access to recreation (Cape Cod, NH/VT mountains, Maine coast, Berkshires) New York and Montreal arn't too far.

2. Nice Suburbs - towns with history and character that are orgininal and were real towns before they were absorbed as surburbs into the metro area.

3. Nice Parks - The Common and Public Gardens, especially in spring, the Fenway and new Rose Kennedy Greenway are all impressive

4. Excellent Food - Love New England Seafood and I especially love the North End (Little Italy)

5. Big College Town - gives the city lots of vibrancy and diversity

Dislikes

1. Horrible road infrastructure - Yes we have the big dig tunnels which is impressive engineering, but the remaining highways and roads are old and practicly 3rd world, the rest of the state has been very neglected.

2. Uniform Archictecture - to an outsider Boston can be charming, but the bricks get monotonous (unless your in Beacon Hill), lots of dumpy three decker homes, skyline doesn't really inspire, not enough edgey, modern or contemporary architecture.

3. Strange incestuous politics - yes politics are corrupt everywhere but the old boy network here spends like drunken sailors and lack any common sense or logic. The same mayor has been in office since 1993, it's like the royal family without the prestige.

4. Weather - Although I Like 4 seasons, the winter is just rediculously long here, and summers are too humid.

Current home is near Kansas City but because I have lived here only a very short while I cannot believe I can justify listing five reasons why I like or dislike this community. Instead I will list my reasons for Kansas City having spent several years there.

Kansas City

Like:

1) Good BBQ restaurants
2) Some decent Mexican restaurants
3) Fair amount of sunshine year round
4) Moderate cost of living in most categories

I guess that's about it.

Dislike:

1) Horrible drivers. More moronic stuff goes on here on the roads than ANY other place I've lived or even visited.
2) Climate is way too hot and humid during summer.
3) Not much in the way of outdoor activities associated with mountains, forests, the ocean and snow. None of that here.
4) Quality of the media is substandard compared to most other metro areas that I've lived. Newscasts on TV are a joke. News Anchors mostly laugh and joke among themselves and for minutes at a time while reporting the news seems to take a back seat to their puerile antics.
5) People are shallow, rude, paranoid, extremely conformist, and woefully ignorant among other things. The woman especially have a real attitude which is amusing since most lack the class, sophistication and manners of the average woman that I've met in most areas of the Northeast or South and even other parts of the Midwest. This place is very much like an over sized backwater.

I could add a few more but I'll stick with the top five. :-)

Dislikes :

1) School system needs to be more organized
2) Downtown isn't the best...
3) So many transplants.
4) Weird as hell weather
5) Don't have a fifth.

4) Lack of urban retail downtown
5) Lack of a signature downtown park
