If you had to choose which of these states would you choose? Or maybe you already live in any of these states? My vote goes to Arizona because its much more affordable than California and wages are not that much lower.

I would choose New Mexico (because I already live there) but if I had to choose between the remaining states, that's a no-brainer: California. The others are just California overspill , anyway. At least in California you have a choice of climates, the coast and culture.

I would say California because no one can deny its coolness, but as far as taxes, govt, and their budget crisis, that state is screwed up. Others are too hot for me.

California was my home for 8 great years of my life, so I have a strong bias But all four of those states are lovely, and bring back so many fond memories of my time in the Southwest - the beaches of California, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, going mountain hiking in New Mexico, and of course, Las Vegas in Nevada.

I voted California but, as far as I'm concerned, the entire Southwest is awesome

California, duh! Ditto to what others said about the different choices of climates, the coolness, culture, geography, etc.

Wow, so far no love for Nevada. I'll take Nevada over Arizona any day, and the reason is entirely political.

New Mexico would be first for me

California second- I would love it here but its too expensive and too crowded for me

Arizona and Nevada- I would never even cosider living in either place, I would rather live in Mississippi.

I picked New Mexico since that's where I am moving. But I'd gladly live in Arizona, I'd be up for Nevada, and I could do California.
