Yes, the suburban areas of KC are fine if you like conformity, blandness, chain restaurants, a lack of trails, and vinyl box housing.

Chicago by far. I would consider Milwaukee a mini Chicago.

I'll say Minneapolis. For a city of 400,000 it is remarkable....several lakes with trails around them in the city limits; outstanding economy; three nationally respected art museums (Walker, Mpls Institute, Weisman); three pro sports teams all in the downtown area (Twins, Vikings, T-Wolves and the Wild NHL team across the river); it is on the Mississippi River; University of MN is one of the top ten research universities in the world; a number of vibrant neighborhoods; downtown that keeps growing and is adding residents; the Guthrie theater (a Tony award winner) and several others; food scene is much more diverse than when I grew up there (have made some visits and noticed); music scene is very active. I doubt I would ever concede there is a better place to live, but maybe Chicago for visiting. Winters can be cold, but residents make the most of it. The historic treasures (esp. Summit/Grand Avenues) of St. Paul are just across the river, too.

I have not been to Chicago and am sure I would enjoy it a lot as a place to visit. I would love to walk along the lakeshore with the huge lake on one side and the skyscrapers on the other. I don't think it can be objectively considered a good place to live again with the incredible violence/murders there over the last few months. Hopefully, those are in neighborhoods away from where visitors go and will be brought under control soon.

I do not know if I would like Cleveland overall, but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is on my bucket list as is the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.

It should be noted that the number of homicides in Chicago is nearly half what it was two decades ago.

still. 500+ is not something to be proud of.
And Chicago was bigger in the 1990s and growing.
Fast forward 10 years and Chicago is the smallest its been since 1910.
Simple math will prove that per capita murder rate is higher with the same 500 murders in a city of 2.680,000 people than when Chicago had 2,900,000 people.
Also i watch the ChicagoTribune everyday. What does it have to say about a city when the police and even the mayors office with Garry McCarthy celebrate 24 hours without a shooting or gun crime/murder?
Ask yourself that question cause i already have my answer.

1990 Chicago population: 2,783, 911;
1990 Chicago homicides: 943;
1990 Chicago homicide rate: 34 / 100,000 residents

2010 Chicago population: 2,695, 598;
2010 Chicago homicides: 436;
2010 Chicago homicide rate: 16 / 100,000 residents

Simple math is apparently something you cannot do...

On behalf of the city of Indianapolis and its actual residents, please accept my apologies. None of us normals harbor any kind of resentment of vendetta against Chicago.
