"extremely hot" weather to me is like the weather in Las Vegas- over 95 degrees. So as I've been researching more, Springfield or Eugene look like possibilities. I enjoy a lot of diversity in people, things to do, so if anyone can add comments about either of these 2 towns, please do and thanks again! P.S. I'd like to stick to the west coast.

West By God Virginia!!!

it does snow, but not as much as you'd think. recreation is awsome, as well as the landscape. If you are in North central WV, there are lots of jobs "High tech corridor"

Charleston is great too!!!

And no, West Virginians aren't uneducated hill-billies!

it is a great place to raise a family, and the schools are good. And two of the best hospitals in the world!

If you need a small town, WV is full of them. but if you need a modern convient life, WV has that too. But not too big.

If that's the final two, Eugene. It's home to the University of Oregon and has a nice diversity of people and is welcoming of newcomers. You can almost never do wrong with a college town in terms of livability.
