The South is where I will live one day, hopefully soon.

same here, I've always wanted to have a nice house out in the country somewhere, the southern portion of the Birmingham metro had some nice houses out there.

I didnt get a Georgia peach though, Im sure they are in season cause my girlfriends mom grows them here, I wanted one so bad but didnt see any.

You know I lived in GA my whole life and have only seen one "Georgia peach" Atlanta has more dogwood trees than anything else. Very pretty in the spring.

I agree with Infamous!
If you had gone to some different areas of both Atlanta and Birmingham, you'd have seen different things, too, but it takes a bit of time to really know a city. I'm impressed that you covered so much ground in a week!

FWIW, we have visited New Mexico twice, and loved it both times. Although the weather and landscape are different (both beautiful, but different), we found the people very similar to Southerners.

Re: peaches. Go to the Farmers Market (and Atlanta has a wonderful one) for peaches....or way out in the country where the peach groves are. In Alabama, there are peach farms in Clanton (between Birmingham and Montgomery) and Athens...I'm sure there are others, too.
