I'm posting out of curiosity. I have heard people say Rhode Island, California, Oregon, and several others. I apologize if this has already been posted, obviously if you look at how many times I've posted you'd be able to tell that I don't come to city-data to often.

Honestly, I would have to say Florida. I dont mean the natives, I am speaking of all the transplants. I have never lived anywhere where the people were so nasty, hostile, and hateful!

Is asking what state is the rudest itself rude? Can rudeness be quantified?

Anyway there is the following thread.

//www.city-data.com/forum/city-...dliest-17.html

The "personality map" of states doesn't seem to precisely have rudeness, but maybe you can find some combination to be analogous.

I've added a poll, unless it was already there and it just magically showed up or something. My computer is so confusing sometimes...

Florida! A bunch of old grumps who complain... usually any place with a lot of older people.
Florida also had a lot of middle aged people who were pretty arrogant, with a side of heavy hoodlums right on the opposite end of town... A lot of these people were just down right rude. (but the older one's are transplants for the most part from NY/NJ/MA/CT and MI/OH/WI/IL)

Maybe i was just in the wrong place at the wrong time (Fort Myers), but even Northern Florida had pretty rude unruly people.

Runner ups would be, Vermont and Connecticut.

First of all, this topic since it's a comparison belongs in the city vs city room (per the room posting guidelines). However, if you search the city vs city room, you'll also find several topics/threads that are already similar to this one, so we don't need another. Please read up on each rooms posting guidelines per the room stickies, and then add to one of the existing threads on the topic there instead of starting a new one on the same thing.

Thank you
