Why is the south "slow" compared to North? (floor, safe)

The south may not be "poor" now...but there is way more money in other places of the country than in the south...The Northeast and California, for example.

Also, other parts of the country have higher %'s of people who graduate college.

More money where in California? In the practically bankrupt state government? There doesn't seem to be a disproportionate amount of money anywhere...

Well, at least in South Florida it is VERY HOT 9 months out of the year. Think Mexico and siestas. When it is so HOT, people run at a slower pace.

But when it is FREEZING in winter, no one slows or stops there daily things. So weather doesn't make sense...

A-Most likely it has something to do with the diet.

Kansas City, while not in the South, is quite slow to the point of being constipated. I chalk that up to not using the right laxative.

The south defines itself as slow. In southern DE you will see several signs reading, "lower, slower, delaware," and the residents are very fond of that statement. In TN they will tell you that they are on "Tennessee time." Nobody is in a rush here for anything. Traffic lights change and only a few cars will be able to make the left because of sloooooow reaction time. Checking out at the local food market is a social event in TN and the term "express line" is fiction. NC has a special type of slow. They're always late but have some of the best excuses you will ever hear.
One thing the south is very fast in is getting paid. Southerners will present a bill as fast as any NYC suit salesman.
