Let me explain me first so you can understand what I am asking. Moderator cut: see comment
Anyway, do you have an accent that is different from where you live?

Cool, where do you live now? Anyways, not really where I live in Va Beach, everybody is in the Military so they are not from here. Few people have the Southern accent here. Also, where I live my neighbors are from NYC. However if you would go to another city of VA yes. Like for example if you would go to Norfolk or Portsmouth you would hear the Southern accent more. Moreover, the Hampton Roads is more of a military place, because there are so many military bases here.
I have a different accent because the majority population in my area of Northern Virginia (Fairfax County) come from different nations. I have Vietnamese, Bolivians, Koreans, Salvadoreans, Ethiopians and a bunch of Arabs (not sure which countries they are from but the women wear burkas and speak Arabic.) in my neighborhood. So since I see a foreigner more often than I see a white person, I definitely have a different accent.
When I tell others I've met the town I live in, they usually ask, "Where are you really from?" I've been down here long enough to put a slur in my voice (I noticed that I don't move my mouth as much as I used to) yet I apparently don't sound like I'm from here at all.
My accent is different from the "typical NYC accent", I have a different variation of the NYC accent (Street/African American Vernacular English) the latter is related to the Southern accent, this is very common for a lot of people in NYC. So I have a hybrid NYC/Southern thing going on, it's still that "New Yawk Tawk" though.
Mine is. I dont have an accent...and I live in the south.
Yes you do have an accent lol.
