Which of the two states listed do you like the best overall: NC or TX? Why?

I live in Texas and have never been to North Carolina, but I'm quite certain I'd like it better as long as I was in the mountains.

North Carolina -- Southern flavor and spirit

Piney woodlands of eastern NC, the marshes and low country, the beautiful wide sandy beaches with perfect ocean all summer long, the Outer Banks, Wilmington, fun and amusement parks. Southern feeling interior, not a whole lot there but you get your hot rural South -- its pretty too.

You got some booming cities with economy that I dont particularly care for but they are there nonetheless - Raleigh, Charlotte. Western NC is amazing with the big tall mountains, lakes and forests. Its a big and beautiful state.

Like the food and friendly people. Try North Carolina barbecue with the vinegar and pork sandwiches.

Great sports scene too. College teams - Duke, NC State, Wake Forest, UNC Tarheels. Carolina Panthers. Carolina Hurricanes hockey. Some minor league baseball teams. Lot of kid league and adult sports. Also got a couple USL I believe soccer teams going on - Carolina Railhawks and the Charlotte Eagles.

I love NC

North Carolina is a much prettier state although I don't think I could live in either state anymore (well, maybe Austin).

Well I like some good beef brisket but I'll have to disagree on that. Nice juicy wet pork ribs or beef ribs -- pork wins hands down. Oh I didnt intend for this to be a barbecue fight.

You just can't beat homemade Texas bbq'd beef.

As far as the states go Texas wins hands down for me. Four of the greatest cities in the US (Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antoine) plus great weather, great people, great food, affordable real estate, etc etc. You just can't beat Texas.

Texas, by far. Better culture, better food, better cities, more jobs, more landscape variety, different weather patterns to choose from. The only downside to TX is the massive illegal problem. Other than that, I wouldnt mind living there, specifically somewhere close to the Big Bend area. Beautiful!
