I like Chicago, but can't imagine why anyone would rather have an Olympics there than in colorful Rio.

Rio de Janeiro deserved the Games. They bid numerous times, and the Games have never been held in South America before. I'm glad they won.

Also, we just had a Summer Games in America in 1996. And a Winter Games in 2002. The U.S. shouldn't hog the Games.

1996? 20 years ago? That isn't quite "just had a Summer Games". The U.S. has hosted the Summer Games exactly four times.

The Olympics have never been held in Antartica, Greenland or on the Moon yet either. Probably because it would be hard for them to pull it off!

I am just joking with you Jerome, but IMHO the Olympics should held in the better possible candidate city. The selection process should (ideally) be free of bias and bribes for votes. Maybe that trully impossible, I guess.

In any case, Rio should be interesting and it sure is colorful like you said. Unfortunately I am not 100% sure they will be able to pull off what Beijing just did, but we shall see!
