Scared? I'm from one of the hottest places in the South, (FL) and live in Michigan now and run around with less layers on in winter than most of the locals here. I'll shovel my driveway with shorts and a t-shirt on as long as the wind isn't too bad.

You didn't watch the ending because we just move to Mexico in exchange for forgiving all debt!

Yeah, but the South's real growth didn't take place until air conditioning became commonplace.

FLORIDA'S real growth didn't take place until air conditioning became commonplace. Other areas of the South have four distinct seasons with cold winters and even snow...so while air conditioning made life more comfortable in general, it didn't cause the explosive growth of the entire South.

The South is not monolithic, but I suspect you already knew that.
It's relative though. Yes, it does get cold in Atlanta, as it does here in North Texas. However, it doesn't get as cold for as long as it does in the Northern climates. Personally, I like four distinct seasons, and have a huge disdain for the sweaty, humid climates of the deep South in places like New Orleans, South Florida, and Houston.

But, even those places have a change now and then (well, except for South Florida). I couldn't fathom how someone could live in a monotonous climate where it's the same all year round.

Yeah, those days really are special southernnaturelover. Perfect weather if you ask me.
