I thought this would be an interesting thread, some people have misconceptions of cities like "New York City is a huge dense concrete jungle" or "All Sunbelt cities are sprawled out with no density", etc.

I don't think many people would believe this is in NYC because it's supposed to be "so dense" in NYC.

Yeah this is a rural swamp area but you can clearly see a NYC bus to the right. This is in Southeast Queens (by me) just north of JFK, the area is called Idlewild Park and many people call this "Snake Road", JFK actually used to be called Idlewild Airport.

That's one small area of a city that has many areas that have a density of well over 150,000 people per square mile.

Hello, that is the point of the thread. To show an area that somebody wouldn't expect to find. Doesn't say it has to represent the entire city or area.

It's not a really small area, and most of NYC isn't nearly as dense as 150,000 people per square mile, if anything that dense area is a small area of the city. Manhattan is only a very small portion of NYC's land area and even most of it isn't even that dense.

That's not the point of the thread though.

Oh, you know...somebody always has to take offense. It's not like the purpose of the thread is to disparage NYC.

LA is this wasteland of endless suburban sprawl where everybody lives in single family homes....but wait what's this?!

I didn't know Seinfeld took place in LA!

And San Francisco isn't the only major California city with Victorians!

That looks like where the family from "Six Feet Under" lived.

That would be this one...it doesn't look at all like the Victorian in L.A.

Psssst, DeaconJ the caption of the link gives it away .

I'll guess Charmed? Just a wild guess LOL. Actually my wife loved that show and I suffered through it with her on many occasions. I would have guessed that anyway.
