along the same vein....why do people in the warm winter spots boast about the warm weather?
"It's 20 degrees right now and snowing!"
"HAHAHAH - It's 70 degrees here and sunny!"
huh? If I wanted to live in a warm winter place, I'd move there. I'm not jealous.
(and don't lie, this happens ALL.THE.TIME - way more than ppl bragging about snow to ppl who live in warm climates )
Having moved from a cold climate to a warm one, I go out of my way not to brag about my sunny days when friends up North are complaining about long winters, because I don't wanna be "that guy" (or that girl, i guess..)
But then 6 months into the year when summer finally hits up there, I get long winded emails, facebook postings, etc. about how amazing it is to be able to see the sun & go outside in flip flops, etc. Do northerners somehow earn the right to brag about warm weather days since they have so few of them?
from my experience (i might have said this before), ppl in the south complain when it gets above like 74 because its, "too hot!"
but when its winter, it has to be damn near arctic outside for them to put on a coat. it could be 27 degrees outside and at least one person will have on something inappropriate for the weather.
it could be 40 and someone has on shorts and a short sleeve shirt with their hands in their pockets looking purple or bluish yet looking at you like you're the one thats dumb because you have on a coat and a scarf.
i'm like, "it started out like 27 degrees this morning, son...the temperature is not gonna go up 55 degrees today." "trust me."
and they always want the air on even if its like 32 degrees outside.
my gf (she's from the south) even had to admit that she looked stupid with her sweater with the sleeves cut out when it was like...i don't even remember the temp but everyone else had on a coat,or a thick jacket and a scarf.

she ended up borrowing my coat. smh.
Most people that I see doing the shorts and t shirt in cold weather are tourists.
I know I have a coat on if it gets near 50.
Most of the people that complain when it gets above 74 don't want to be here and that is one of their complaints, if they ever move back north they probably won't complain about it being above 74 because they are where they want to be.
What you don't know about the South could fill volumes...........
so you're going to sit there and tell me about my personal experiences??
just because you want them to be northern transplants doesn't make it so.
i know these ppl personally, where they're from and where they haven't been through extensive conversations.

Complete opposite of me lol
74 is nearly perfect weather for me, but anything about 50 (maybe 60); It's time to light up the fireplace and drink some good ole hot coco!
What makes cold weather miserable for me is the wind chill.
