I'd have to vote for the Sierras. But I also haven't visited the Appalachians or Alaska. The Tetons are spectacular too.

Sorry I see the beauty in all of them. I couldn't pick just one.

Photos of the Cascades. They are the definition of "purple mountain majesties."

The Appalachians, with the Blue Ridge Parkway, can't go wrong.

Those of you who like the Sierras, Tetons, and Guadelopes, just include that as part of the Rockies. By Rockies, I basically meant Western mountains excluding the Cascades.

Cool, I was wondering as the "Rockies" include all those ranges, the Cascades, and the Alaskan ranges...

But I have to say the Rockies...they include all types of mountains you can think of; extremely high summits, jagged desert peaks, apline meadows, glaciers, waterfalls, etc etc.

"Rockies" in Arizona known as the San Francisco Peaks rising nearly 13,000ft:

"Sedona Red" colored mountains near Phoenix; inspiration for the Diamondback colors:

Desert Ranges with snow in Arizona:

These flat "peaks" are called mesas and are part of the Superstition Ranges east of Phoenix:

It's a toss up for me between the Green Mountains and the Alaskan Range...
