Yes, but if you live in Tampa you probably spend every day running from your air conditioned house to your air conditioned car to your air conditioned store/office/library/whatever.
I hibernate when temps are over 70. I go out in the middle of the night just to appreciate the 50s or rare 40s, and not to see the burning hot Florida SUN.
When speaking of a pool of favorite cities, weather doesn't become that popular. Though sure if you have two nice cities, neither are your favorite I'm sure weather may come into play.
I think the weather is important if you like being outside. I love to be outside. Hiking, canoeing, biking, having a beer watching Phillies baseball... they are some of my favorite things to do. The weather in PA is much too cold and rainy for my liking, and i find it depressing at times. I would love to live in a better outdoor climate... although these days i guess i want to live anywhere i can get a job.
Weather isn't a huge issue for me. The Chicago winters are a bit longer than I would like them to be, but weather very very rarely stops me from going out and being active. I still go out for a run even when its 20 degrees out, and one of my favorite things to do is to play football in the rain or snow. There are always fun things you can do outdoors in almost any type of weather, so I guess that is why weather isn't a huge issue to me.
Only extreme climates like ones with year round cold weather or places with extreme heat would be issues for me.
I am from the Cleveland area of Ohio. I probably wouldn't accept a job offer somewhere colder than where I live now. I'm looking into moving to Kentucky/Tennessee/North Carolina after college (I graduate in May). They get some snow, but it's a pleasant amount in my opinion, just enough to make the ground white. I'd love to live in Toronto, but the weather is a deal breaker for me personally. It's colder and gets more snow then where I live now, which usually gets around 45 inches a given Winter. I don't find this type of weather enjoyable these days, and I'm ready for a warmer climate.
With that said, I don't like a lot of heat either. So, I wouldn't want to live in Florida, Texas, or Arizona either. That is wwwaaaayyyy too hot and don't have any sort of Winter really. So, that's why my relocation options are being limited by me lol.
I once moved from CA to MN. Having made that adjustment and even having learned to like the Minnesota winters, I no longer worry about weather much. If I have to move to somewhere like Fargo or Phoenix, I will welcome it as a challenge.
I LOVE Hot, Dry and Brown. I belong in the AZ desert. Everyone has different preferences and everyone is drawn to different climates. It is very interesting to me.
I currently live in Interior Alaska. I would happily exchange -60 degrees F for 110 degrees F. So long as you have water, it is a lot harder to die in a hot climate. Cold temps can be very dangerous.
I agree with someone else who mentioned that people who live in colder, darker climates are typically "ruder." I think this is very true! I think that sunlight has a HUGE impact on mood!
If only my precious sunny AZ desert had some JOBS!!! Looks like I might have to head farther east if I want a job.
Being retired, I do not have to be concerned with snow/ice that much. When it happens, I just don't go out. Not big on scraping the windshield but since I'm not in the workforce, I can wait for the ice to melt off the windshield before going out. I am, however, very concerned with heat and humidity and would rule out any states bordering the Gulf of Mexico for that reason. I do not want prolonged summers. I like cold weather just not bad weather. My hobby is outdoor photography so weather is somewhat important. I'm not fond of tornadoes or earthquakes, either
