I think I have SAD. I shut down from Thanksgiving till early April. It's cold, it's a mess, dreary, and dead during the winter. Can't stand traveling through the snow and ice. I love the summer love to sweat. Though I don't like heat all the time 70 to 80 weather most of the year is ideal. Don't mind a warm fall especially with leaves changing and camping during the fall. Like an early spring not a mud season. Spring can be damp and wet. I don't mind snow, but 20 inches or less and nothing below 32 degrees for most of the winter. A rainy 40 to 50 winter be ideal.
An area where you can be an hour or two from historical sites as well as the beach.
Your criteria seems to speak to the lower Southeast and would throw out places to check out like Columbia SC, Charleston SC Savannah GA or Greenville NC.
