Movies? Easily the 90s.
This is ridiculous. The foundation for much of the music we hear now (especially synth sound) occured back then.

You say that like it's a good thing.

I guess we should be grateful for the things that made Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry possible, right

Ooh, bitter...

I said foundation...please tell me you understand that there is more to music today than Lada Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry (even in Gary).

Tx is about quantity of growth, not quality. Population growth has increased much faster than job growth in TX so we'll see how the next several years go. I do agree that QOL in the 80s and 90s was much better than today for most areas of the US. Things just didn't cost as much and wages were much higher for many different jobs compared to today when adjusted for inflation. Now, you seeing younger and older workers struggling with underemployment even if they have good job skillsets.

Now. If I where growing up in the 80's/90's where I currently live, I probably would have been shot dead already.

I disagree.

In terms of pop music, that's about what it is.

Even rappers are making Europop records and Korn is making records with Skrillex.

That kind of synthpop is pretty dominant, to the point where somebody like Adele can just make decent "vintage" music and be treated like a goddess.

Rock is pretty much dead.

R&B is pretty much dead.

Pop is lame, but it's usually been lame, so that's no biggie.
