1. Everyone either drives 20 miles over the speed limit or 20 miles under the speed limit
2. Political apathy. It's not nearly as conservative as people think. It's just all of the hard core right wingers vote and most of the middle of the road people don't.
3.The sports fans. At least the ones that pull for the local teams. Many people in Phx still root for their hometown teams but it seems like the ones that support the local ones are somewhat lame.
4. The insistence on branding itself as "Southwestern" or even worst Old West. It's about as authentically old west as Cleveland. It's just that people see the surrounding landscape and figure they must live on the set of some western movie.
