Is this a serious question? South Florida no question. With all the transplants from the Northeast, South Florida is easily the most liberal area in the Southern US.

Many people often say San Diego is conservative. I don't find it such, but relatively speaking, compared to the rest of California, I suppose it is. I would say San Diego is more conservative than Miami.

Southern Florida has NY/NJ/New England transplants. Southern California has Mexican illegals. Hispanics are more conservative on social issues than white Northeasterners, that's for sure.

Not even remotely close. South Florida is the only reason Florida is a swing state. Key West… Miami...

I think San Diego is traditionally conservative on military and fiscal matters. It's not socially conservative or even socially moderate so far as I can tell. (Maybe some of its suburbs are, but that's true of many cities)

I'm retarded. I thought the OP was comparing South Florida to South Carolina, not "South California."

SoCal is definitely more liberal than South Florida. SD and Orange County might be on the conservative side, but overall the region is extremely liberal.

Many Cuban immigrants vote Democratic.

A lot of Cubans in South Florida have earned a reputation as conservatives in the sense that they are fiercely anti-Communism as refugees fleeing from the Castro regime in Havana, and some will vote more right-wing to distance themselves as far from Castro as possible. Also, the GOP is generally more inclined to use military force, and I would bet that many Cubans who flee to the U.S. wouldn't be opposed to U.S. military action against Castro's regime, and Communism in Latin America in general.

When the news was expecting Castro to die a while back, many Cubans were planning a massive party in Miami and the surrounding area.

Southern California is the birthplace of modern conservatism. Nixon and Reagen both started their political careers in the region. However, SoCal is becoming more and more liberal everyday.
