I love Dillard's. The store at Atlantic Station is lovely, and their sales are at times mind-blowing. There have been some rumblings about that store not doing that well, but I truly hope that they can persevere through the recession.

There's only 3 in Illinois since that's Bon-Ton country. Dillard's isn't in Chicagoland and the closest to S.F. is in Stockton, L.A. in Palmdale, and S.D. in El Centro. The northern tier (and the West) only has few compared to the 61 in Texas and the huge density (relative to population) of them in the rest of the South.

what's Bon Ton country!?

All I said was that there are dozens of Dillards between Iowa, Illinois, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas and many other parts of the country.

They're certainly not just a "southern" store. I mean I grew up in a town of 60,000 people in Iowa and we had a Dillards well over 10 years ago.
