I have lived in several different cities, researched many more cities to no end, and visited a lot of potential new cities, but I cannot decide which city to live in. Perhaps you can help. Below is what I'm looking for.

MUST HAVES
1. No crazy Miami-like lizards or gigantic bugs.

2. Warm/sunny, or at least not colder than Baltimore.

3. Good economics (jobs, cost of living, etc)

WOULD REALLY, REALLY PREFER

4. Not to be landlocked

NOT A DEAL BREAKER

5. Relatively safe
(I live in Balto. for now so, most likely, crime would be lower anywhere else)

6. A larger city (not much smaller than Balto), but this NOT a deal breaker

Suggestions?

Hm, it's not my cup of tea but have you looked into Texas?
Economy is good.
Not landlocked. (but a tad isolated)
Relatively safe.
VERY warm and sunny... perhaps too much so.
Not a huge problem with bugs or reptiles as far as I can tell...maybe out in West Texas.
Or the Bayou are bordering LA.

Maybe the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of VA and Houston.

And those are on the OP's 'MUST HAVES' list.

Ironic you suggested that. A map tells me Hampton is near Norfolk. I took the "Find Your Spot" quiz (tried to insert the URL but this board won't let me) and it suggested Norfolk, VA. I only know the DC/VA are, so we'll be taking a road trip to Southern VA within the next few weeks. Thanks! )
